The Girls Varsity Soccer started off fast and kept the pressure on to win their first tournament game 8-0 over Ottawa Hills on Thursday afternoon. The scoring started quickly with Elizabeth Williams scoring a hat trick in thefirst 15 minutes of the match with assists from Ana Mucci and Rachel Wolfe on the 2nd and 3rd goal respectively. Emily Nelson continued the scoring with two strikes in the first half (one assisted by Olivia Gray) with a goal by Ana Mucci sandwiched in between. The Eagles went into halftime holding a comfortable 6-0 lead. The scoring continued immediately after half-time with Liv Brunink connecting 1-minute into the 2nd half on an assist by fellow freshman, Kailynn Grieve. Brunink struck again 8 minutes later to end the game with an 8-0 advantage.
The Eagles will travel to Byron Center for the District semifinal on Wednesday, 29 at 5:00 pm against conference opponent, Middleville-Thornapple Kellogg.
