Eagles Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse beat Lowell, 17 – 6. Goals were scored by senior Sophia Parolini; junior Kate DeYoung (4); junior Carolyn Prince; and sophomores Madison Quist (4), Rachel Kooienga (3), Lucy Lantinga (2), Audrey Monahan and Naomi VanderVelde. Assists were credited to senior Lauren Eekhoff; junior DeYoung; sophomores Kooienga, Lantinga, Amanda Lehmann, Monahan, and Quist. Junior goalie Lydia Phelps was credited with 6 saves and causing one turnover. Midfielder DeYoung was credited with winning 12 and controlling 5 draws. Midfielder Kooienga was credited with winning 1 and controlling 8 draws. Midfielder Parolini was credited with winning 1 and controlling 1 draw and Lantinga controlled 1 draw. The team’s Ground Hog Award was given to junior defender Abby Roossien for scooping up 4 ground balls. Midfielder Sophia Parolini earned Defensive Player of the game for her good work turning players away from the goal, causing 1 turn-over and scooping up 4 ground balls. With this win, Eagles’ clinched first place in their conference with their 7 – 0 conference record. Way to go Eagles!
