The Eagles played a great game against one of the best teams in the state but lost 59-52. After a rough start that found the Eagles down 9-2, GRC went on a 14-4 run to end the first quarter up 16-13. The second quarter when back and forth and EK hit a 3 at the last second to put them up 19-16 going into the half.
The second half of the game found each team going on runs. Every time East Kentwood went on a run, the Eagles answered. EK capitalized at the free throw line down the stretch and won by a score of 59-52.
The Eagles were lead by TaNyla Billips who had 17 points, 15 coming from the 3-point line. Emma Witte had 14 points (two 3-pointers), Liv Brunink had 8 points and Kate DeYoung had 6.
The Eagles play their last game of the season on Thursday night at 7:00 at the Quest Center.
