Eagles JV Girls’ Lacrosse had their first shut out last night, beating West Ottawa, 15 – 0. Goals were scored by senior Michelle Ferdinands (2), juniors Millie Winkleman (2) and Lauren Merritt; sophomores Grace Ydenberg (4), Isabela Hernandez (3), Anna Hart (2) and Gabby Rowland; and freshman Kiera Zylstra. Sophomore goalie Kayla Potter was credited with the win with 3 saves and 1 ground ball. Midfielder Anna Hart was credited with winning 9 and controlling 3 draws. Midfielder/attacker Ydenberg was credited with winning 2 and controlling a draw. Other midfielders credited with controlling draws were Ferdinands (3), Hernandez (2), Merritt, and Rowland. The team scooped up an amazing 46 total ground balls! Leading the way was Ydenberg who earned the team’s Groundhog Award for scooping up 8 ground balls and causing 2 turn overs and Defensive Player of the Game, Michelle Ferdinands, for her good work on the midfield and defense including 8 ground balls and causing 5 turn overs. Way to go Eagles!
