Eagles Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse fell to East Grand Rapids, 8 – 18. Goals were scored by senior Kate DeYoung (4); juniors Rachel Kooienga (2), Audrey Monahan, and Madison Quist. DeYoung was credited with 2 assists; Kooienga, Monahan, and freshman Lili Bouwma were each also credited with assists. Junior goalie Kayla Potter was credited with 12 saves. Senior midfielder DeYoung was credited with winning 14 and controlling 3 draws. Other players credited with controlling draws were juniors Kooienga (7), Lucy Lantinga (2), Audrey Monahan, and Rylie Schrotenboer. The team’s Ground Hog Award and Defensive Player of the Game were both awarded to senior defender Katie Abolt for her good work scooping up 2 ground balls and for her excellent man to man coverage. Way to go Eagles!
