The Varsity Eagles exacted a little revenge on the Wolves of Wyoming Wednesday at the Zandee Tennis courts at Gainey Athletic Facility. Two days after dropping their first dual match of the year against EGR, the Eagles made short work of the Wolves. Simon Volkema (#1), Tyler Stafford (#2), Marcus Haveman (#3) and Alex Lowell (#4) all defeated their opponents in straight sets, dropping only one game combined. On the doubles courts, James VanHekken and Tanner Warners, playing at first doubles for the first time this year, defeated their Wolves counterpart 6-2, 6-0, while Sawyer Masselink/Eli Kuiper at #2 cruised in their match 6-0, 6-0.
Playing at #3 was the All-Freshman team of Alex Cook and Sam VanSchepen who dominated their opponents, also winning 6-0, 6-0. The #4 team of Senior Drew Vandlen and Junior Andrew Hoeksema also blanked their opponent without dropping a game.
Next up for the Eagles is a tough competitive tournament at Rockford High School on Saturday. Start time is 9:00 am.
