The eagles got their first win last night against Covenant Christian. The girls worked hard, played together and did what was asked of them. Emma Witte led all scorers with 22 points and Courtney Dykhouse chipped in 7 points. TaNyla Billips grabbed a bunch of rebounds and added intensity. The eagles turn around and play again tonight against Holland Christian at 6:30pm. Way to go Eagles!

Grand Rapids Christian lost a close one tonight to Covenant Christian. The game was close the entire game until Covenant Christian pulled away in the 4th quarter.

The Eagles were lead by Mady Tillman and Bri Cook. Mady had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Bri Cook had 10 points and played great defense the entire night.

Game Recap

The Eagles walked away with the first victory of the season in their first home game against Covenant Christian. The game was back and forth the entire way, with the Eagles leading 15-10 at half. Coming back from a 7 point deficit in the fourth quarter, the Eagles locked down on defense and pulled ahead with an offensive rebound and put-back from Savannah Baker. Free throws by Haily McBride secured the lead. It was an all around great team effort on both ends of the court for a well-deserved first win! The freshmen girls are back again Thursday night for a home match-up against Holland Christian.

Meet Recap

GRCHS girls varsity bowling team beat the Sailors of South Christian 18-12. The Sailors took an early lead in the baker games and first regular game. However, in a thrilling comeback during the second regular game, the Eagles won 4 out of the 5 matchups and total pin count by only 21 pins! This comeback included senior Elly Zandee winning her matchup by 1 pin 156-155. The Eagles were led by Amber DeMaat with a 179.

Game Recap

A tough night for the Eagles against a talented Cougar squad ended in a 73-49 defeat and the first loss at the Quest Center in over two years. Offensively the Eagles were led by Seth Millner’s 21 points while EJ Victory chipped in 8. The Eagles struggled to shoot 30% from the field to CC’s 48%. Next up for the Eagles is another home contest on Friday against the Maroons from Holland Christian. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm in the Quest Center.

The JV boys fought hard in a tough battle with Catholic Central this evening. The outcome did not end up in their favor ending up in a loss for the Eagles. The boys had great energy and played very hard, the Eagles had a rough 1st quarter but battled back throughout the game.

The freshman Eagles defeated Catholic Central today, 66-46. The Eagles used defensive pressure to jump to an early lead and continued that pressure throughout the game. Donovan Brown-Boyd led the Eagles with 19 points. Brian Hunter added 15 and Marcellus VanderKodde had 8. The Eagles head to Holland Christian on Thursday at 5:00.
