Eagles News · Lydia Phelps (Class of 2019) added to Advance All-Area Girls Lacrosse Team

From MLive:

Competition is brutal for All-Area Girls Lacrosse recognition

Brutal is the only way to describe the competition in getting on the All-Area Girls Lacrosse page. So many talented stick-minders who battle each other tough, week in and week out, in proving their mettle in order to get their teams the win. These girls have the skills and savvy to take on any challengers, again proving the best side is the west side in state of Michigan lacrosse.

LYDIA PHELPS

Grand Rapids Christian, Junior

While it isn’t easy to battle the teams Grand Rapids Christian has to face, this junior netminder gets the job done with a positive attitude and strong blocking skills. The all-stater played her third season in net and kept her Eagles soaring throughout the season.

“Lydia is very solid and dependable,” [GR]Christian coach Neal Young said. “She doesn’t get stuck in her own head and doesn’t let the moment get to her. She has a short memory on stuff. She also is incredibly positive and creates an uplifting mood for her teammates.”

Congratulations also to Kate DeYoung who was named to the Advance All-Area Girls Lacrosse Team Second Team.
