Game Recap

Eagles Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse ended their 2017 season, falling to Catholic Central 7 – 19. Eagles played tough through the first half which ended 4 – 7, but slipped in the second half for the loss. Goals were scored by seniors Brooke Christians and Sydney Muller; sophomore Kate DeYoung (3), and freshmen Rachel Kooienga and Madison Quist. DeYoung, Kooienga, and Quist were also credited with assists. Sophomore goalie Lydia Phelps was credited with 8 saves and 2 ground balls. DeYoung was credited with winning 9 and controlling 3 draws. Christians was credited with winning 3 and controlling 2 draws. Senior defender / midfielder Sydney Muller was credited with controlling 6 draws and senior defender Brenna Otte was credited with 1 draw control. Attackers Quist and Kooienga shared the team’s Ground Hog Award for each scooping up 5 ground balls. The team’s Defensive Player of the game was DeYoung for her good work turning players away on the goal and scooping 3 ground balls and causing 3 turn overs. Congratulations for a TERRIFIC season Eagles!
