Game Recap

Eagles Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse fall to East Grand Rapids, 4 – 17. Goals were scored by sophomores Kate DeYoung and Carolyn Prince; and freshman Madison Quist (2). An assist was credited to freshman Rachel Kooienga. Draw wins were credited to senior midfielder Brooke Christians (3), junior midfielder Sophia Parolini (2), and freshman defender / midfielder Rylie Schrotenboer (3). Draw controls were credited to senior defender / midfielder Sydney Muller (2), junior midfielder Abby Vander Kooi, sophomore midfielder DeYoung (3), and midfielder / attacker Kooienga (2). Sophomore goalie Lydia Phelps was credited with an amazing 15 saves and 2 ground balls, earning her the title of Defensive Player of the game. The team’s Ground Hog Award was given to Muller for her good work turning away players from the goal, causing 1 turn-over, and scooping 3 ground balls. Despite the loss, the team performed admirably. Way to work hard Eagles!
