Game Recap

Varsity Eagles beat Ann Arbor Skyline, 9 – 6. Goals were scored by senior Brooke Christians; sophomore, Kate DeYoung (3); and freshmen, Rachel Kooienga (3), Audrey Monahan, and Madison Quist. Quist was also credited with an assist. Sophomore goalie Lydia Phelps was credited with the win and 1 save, and freshman goalie Kayla Potter, who entered the game in the second half, was also credited with 1 save. Midfielder DeYoung was credited with winning 9 draws and controlling 6; midfielder Christians won 3 draws and controlled 2; junior midfielder Sophia Parolini and fresmen Kooienga and Rylie Schroetenboer were also each credited with 2 draw controls. The team’s Ground Hog Award for the game was given to Sophia Parolini for her good work on a grass field, scooping up 4 ground balls. Defensive Player of the day was sophomore defender Sophie Holden for her good work turning away players from the goal. Way to go Eagles!
