The Varsity girls had a difficult time keeping up with a powerful EGR team (who are 20-0 this season). Paris Madison led the scoring with 9. Smith, Zandee, Lubben, Riemersma, and Muller also scored, but the Eagles ultimately lost 53-24.
The JV girls put the final touches on an OK White championship season with a 42-27 win at home against East Grand Rapids to finish 10-0 in the conference and 16-4 overall, including 16 straight wins to end the season. The game was closer than the final score would indicate as Christian led by only 27-25 after three quarters of play. But a strong fourth quarter finished the job. The trio of Hayley Reitsma, Caroline Postema and Arnell Thompson was too much for East to handle as those three players combined for 27 points and 26 rebounds. For the game, Christian dominated the boards with 37 rebounds, including 15 on the offensive end.
The girls won 54-22 finishing a 18-game winning streak. For the second consecutive game, all 11 players scored. Leading the way with 10 points each was Kate Evenhouse and Lauryn Slachter. Morgan Urshalitz had 6 rebounds, Annika Zandee 6 steals and Carly Van Swol 4 assists. Congrats to Coach Veldkamp and Asst. Coach Rietema and the girls on a great season.
