The JV Eagles improved to 9-3 and 6-0 in the OK White with a 52-49 win at Lowell on Monday.
The freshman boys defeated Lowell 66-44 and advanced to a 9-3 record. Mitch Damstra and Nick Schierbeek were the lead scorers.
The girls posted their 10th straight victory on Tuesday night with a comfortable 49-17 win at Lowell to improve to 10-4 overall and 6-0 in OK White play. Caroline Postema had 11 points, Jessica Brasser had 7, Kortney Deurloo, Hayley Reitsma and Rachel Harkema had 6 each, Emma DeWitt had 5 and Gina de Haan had 4. Postema added 8 rebounds, while de Haan had 6 assists and Reitsma chipped in with 4 steals.
The freshman girls once again jumped to an early lead with a 21-3 first quarter score at Lowell. Everyone contributed in the 57-17 final score. Kate Evenhouse had solid game with 6 points and 5 offensive rebounds and Sam Stevens knocked down a long 3-pointer. Lauryn Slachter, Ashley Duncan, Kristin Danielson, and Danielle Barton all scored 8 pts apiece. Annika Zandee had a strong floor game with 6 assists, while Morgan Urshalitz and Carley Van Swol combined for 11 rebounds. Mykenzie Borrello had a nice steal and converted a free throw, and Rachel Warners had a great second half to lead all scorers with 12. Coach Veldkamp’s team is unbeaten in conference and 13-1 overall.
