Head Coach Tiffanie Gates
1. Where did you attend high school and college and what did you major in?
I attended Tustin high in Southern California and then played volleyball at Arizona State and majored in Sociology.
2. What made you decide to go into coaching high school athletics?
After taking a break from volleyball to have kids I really missed it and wanted to have a positive impact on young women in the sport the way some of my coaches did when I was younger.
3. What do you feel is the most rewarding part of being a coach, particularly in a high school setting?
Being able to build relationships with the girls and help them to learn some life lessons that go beyond just the gym setting.
4. What advice can you give to young athletes that are coming up the system who are interested in your specific sport?
Learn the fundamentals from someone who knows what they are doing and also to play in your backyard with friends or at a park. Keep touching the ball even when it is a different sport season for you.
5. What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Tell me about yourself and your family situation and how long you have been a part of Grand Rapids Christian?
I enjoy watching my kids play their sports. I have 5 kids from ages 2-16 ( 2 boys and 3 girls). Our kids all go to school here now and this is my first season coaching at GRCHS.
