Game Recap

A perfect ending was not to be for the Eagles today at the Breslin Center, with their season ending with a 75-69 loss to Clarkston. GR Christian finishes the season with a 27-1 record, and the most wins in school history. A 8-0 Clarkston run at the end of the first quarter proved to be the difference as they led the rest of the game. The Eagles could never seem to “get over the hump” against the Tigers, with the deficit fluctuating between 3 and 13 points the rest of the game. In an emotional locker room at the Breslin, amid hugs and tears, the brotherhood and love for one another remained strong, and just as they had won 27 games together, they took the loss together like men, having left it all on the floor with no regrets. Xavier Tillman led the Eagles in scoring with 25 points. Duane Washington, Jr. and Seth Millner chipped in with 16 and 11 respectively. Tillman also tallied 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks. The coaching staff and the players thank the many fans who traveled to Lansing in support of the team. You were truly awesome and we feel grateful to be a part of such a supportive community.
