Game Recap

Grand Rapids Christian traveled out to Oxford Saturday afternoon for the last game of the regular season. After a national anthem unexpectedly lead by senior defender Sung Ryoo, the team was ready to go at the start of the game and scored 2 very quick goals to jump into an early lead. Oxford responded by scoring the next 3. The teams traded goals to end the half and GRC went into half down by 2. After a rough start to the third quarter, Oxford doubled the lead. The rest of the game was dominated by GRC which included a 4-0 run to end the game in the 4th quarter. The game was tied with 3 minutes to go on a Will Mehney goal and after some big defensive stops won on a transition goal with 30 seconds left. Keegan Stenstrom had a big game with 5 points (2 goals and 3 assists), Will Mehney had 6 points (5 goals and an assist) and Gibson Heys had 4 points (2 goals and 2 assists) The defense was lead by a strong performance from goalie Isaac Buffinga and good play from all of the defensive players.
