Grand Rapids Christian Junior, Julia Bos, hasn’t stopped running even though the high school cross country season ended over two weeks ago. The Eagles star runner took her talents to the Foot Locker Midwest Championships at the Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin this past weekend over the Thanksgiving break. As usual, Julia participated at her peak performance level despite the long 5 hour drive to Wisconsin. Bos, who won the Michigan individual state championship in Division II with a personal best time of 17:24.7, was able to beat this mark in Kenosha this past weekend. With an overall time of 17:14 and a pace of 5:33 per mile , Bos beat her record by over 10 seconds to take second place out of over 260 Midwest participants. Julia’s second place finish qualified her to participate in the Championship run in San Diego, California on December 10 @ 12:15 pm.
The Foot Locker Championship series features four regional runs located in California, Wisconsin, New York, and North Carolina. The top 10 runners from each region are invited to participate in the Championship run at Morley Field in San Diego. Julia is the only Grand Rapids Christian athlete to ever be invited to this prestigious event which will also be covered by ESPN!
Congratulations to Julia, once again, for her great accomplishments and we pray that God will bless her travels to San Diego and enable her to perform at her highest level.
Go Eagles and Go Julia!
